Sant Josep Fallas in La Vall d'Uixó
Gunpowder, monuments and tradition
With the arrival of spring, La Vall d’Uixó celebrates one of the most famous Valencian festivals: the Fallas de Sant Josep.
Throughout the month of March, the city comes alive with spectacular Fallas monuments, music, fireworks, and vibrant community events. The Fallas committees (comisiones falleras) work tirelessly all year round to organize a festival that masterfully combines tradition, satire, ephemeral art, and community spirit.
One of the most highly anticipated moments takes place on the night of March 19th, the feast day of Saint Joseph, with the emotional cremà. Flames consume the monumental sculptures, bringing the festivities to a dramatic close and marking the end of a celebration that floods the streets with joy and local participation every year.
The Fallas of La Vall d’Uixó have been officially declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, making them an unmissable highlight on the city’s festive calendar.
